Japanese Calligraphy Experience

Experience Flow (Approx. 60 Minutes)

墨の香りで、心を整える

Calm Your Mind with the Scent of Ink

The journey begins not with writing, but with grinding your own ink—a quiet ritual passed down through centuries.
Feel the rhythm of your hand, the texture of the inkstone, and the faint scent of sumi as your focus gently deepens.

一文字に宿る、八つの型

Eight Techniques in a Single Kanji

The character “永” (eternity) is the foundation of Japanese calligraphy, containing the eight essential brushstrokes.
With quiet focus, you will practice each movement—stop, sweep, release—learning the rhythm and structure that form the heart of calligraphy.

心を筆先にのせて

Let the Brush Speak Your Mind

In this step, you will choose a word or phrase that resonates with you—perhaps a Zen proverb, a Japanese idiom, or even your own name.
With each stroke, your inner focus and intention will take form on the paper.

一筆を、旅の記憶に変える

Transform Your Stroke into a Souvenir

Complete your journey by writing your chosen character or phrase on a traditional Japanese folding fan.
This final step turns your inner reflection into a tangible piece of art—one you can take home and treasure.
